Crystal City Police arrested one woman and two men Monday afternoon (Aug. 21) for alleged felony drug possession. At 1 p.m., a Crystal City Police officer pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of County Road for an alleged traffic violation and smelled marijuana, Capt. Mike Pruneau said.
He said the officer searched the vehicle and reportedly found a firearm, as well as Xanax and marijuana. Both the Xanax and marijuana “appeared to be packaged for distribution,” Pruneau said.
He said the driver – a 21-year-old Pevely woman – and two of the three passengers in the vehicle were arrested. The two passengers who were arrested included a 19-year-old Crystal City man and a 22-year-old Gary, Ind., man, Pruneau said.
The other passenger, a woman, was released “because she had nothing to do with it,” Pruneau said.
He said the driver and two male passengers were transported to the Crystal City Police station, booked and released pending application for warrants. Crystal City Police will seek felony drug charges against all three, as well as traffic violations against the driver, through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Pruneau said.
