A car found abandoned Monday (Nov. 30) at a Pevely gas station was reported stolen out of St. Louis, but it had a dealer’s license plate that had not been reported stolen, Pevely Police reported.
At 11:56 p.m., an officer was called to the Mobil On the Run gas station, 1632 Hwy. Z, because a black 2009 Honda Accord was left parked in front of one of the gas pumps. The officer discovered the car had been reported stolen, but not the license plate, the report said.
As of Tuesday (Dec. 1), Pevely Police were trying to obtain surveillance video to determine when the car was left at the pump, and if they could identify who drove the car to the gas station and then apparently abandoned it, Capt. Larry Miller said.
Anyone with information about the abandoned car should call Pevely Police at 636-475-4498.
