An Arnold man and a Pevely woman were arrested at a Pevely motel May 26 after they allegedly were found with more than a pound of crystal methamphetamine, says Pevely Police Lt. Tony Moutray.
Officers were at the Super Eight Motel near Hwy. Z and I-55 at about 5:30 p.m. on a call for a possible suicidal person.
That call turned out to be false, Moutray said, but the officers noticed a man and woman in the lobby. The man fit the description of a person wanted in connection with a tire-slashing incident.
The man also appeared to fit the description of a man wanted for allegedly selling meth out of a bookbag in the area of Peggy and Larkin drives in Pevely.
Officers searched the couch where they had been seated, Moutray said, and discovered 40 small bags of crystal meth.
Police got permission to search their room at the motel and allegedly found more meth there.
The man, 34, and the woman, 22, were on probation for previous drug-related offenses in St. Louis, Moutray said. Both were taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
Pevely Police will seek warrants for new drug possession charges.
