A 61-year-old Pevely man was arrested Feb. 6 for allegedly threatening a manager at the Arnold Salvation Army store with a knife, Arnold Police report.

The suspect worked at the store, 2110 Tenbrook Road, and so did his daughter, but she had been fired, and the suspect was arguing with the manager about the firing. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly pulled out a pocketknife and started chasing the manager around with it, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

Eventually, the suspect left the store, got in a vehicle and drove away. No one was hurt during the incident, Jones said.

The Pevely man was listed as wanted, and at 11:40 a.m. the same day, he turned himself in at the Arnold Police Department. The man was booked and released pending application for warrants, Jones said.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. As of Tuesday (Feb. 14), no charges had been filed, Jones said.
