A 28-year-old Pevely man was arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of methamphetamine. The man was arrested about 3:25 p.m. Dec. 6, after an officer pulled him over on Hwy. 141 near Old Lemay Ferry Road, Arnold Police reported.

The officer stopped the man, who was driving a 2010 Pontiac G6, for an alleged traffic violation. The man allegedly provided a false name, but the officer eventually uncovered the man’s true identity and learned he already was wanted on warrants from three law enforcement agencies – the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, the Festus Police Department for a traffic violation and the Pevely Police Department for resisting arrest, the report said.

The man was arrested and taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked and held for the other law enforcement agencies. Depending on drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, making a false declaration to police and failing to drive in a single lane, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
