A 42-year-old Pevely man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated Friday morning (Feb. 21), about two hours after he crashed a pickup on Hwy. 32 near Old Bismarck Road in St. Francois County. The man was injured in the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:20 a.m., the man was driving a 2018 Ford F350 east on the highway, and the pickup ran off the right side of the road and struck a sign and then traveled across Old Bismarck Road and over a ditch before striking an embankment, overturning and striking four parked cars in the lot at Sweeney Auto Salvage in Park Hills, the report said.

The man was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The pickup was totaled, the report said.
