An outbuilding in the 4700 block of Tina Drive in House Springs was destroyed by a fire on June 18. The fire also damaged the siding on the nearby home, High Ridge Fire Chief John Barton said.
The residents were not home when the fire started, but two dogs were inside and were unharmed, Barton said.
He said a neighbor reported the fire, and when firefighters arrived on the scene at 1:24 a.m., the structure was fully involved in flames, Barton said.
He said the fire started in the outbuilding, most likely a shed, which was a total loss. The siding on the home probably will need replaced because it was warped and melted due to the heat from fire.
The cause of the fire was undetermined because the outbuilding was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived, Barton said.
The fire was brought under control by 1:30 a.m., and the last truck left the scene at 2:26 a.m., High Ridge Fire reported.
The Antonia, Cedar Hill and Eureka fire protection districts helped with the call, and the Big River Ambulance District responded to the scene.
