Eureka Police arrested a 38-year-old O’Fallon, Ill., man for alleged possession of marijuana after officers responded to calls about the man driving erratically and creating a disturbance in a gas station parking lot, a police report said.
At 11:49 p.m. July 1, police got reports about the man driving recklessly and spitting at vehicles before he pulled into the QuikTrip at 290 Fourth St., where he turned up his radio, shouted obscenities and spit at customers, the report said.
When the police arrived, the man appeared to be intoxicated and possibly under the influence of a controlled substance, according to the report.
Police took the man into protective custody and later allegedly found numerous alcohol bottles and a bag of marijuana in his vehicle. While he was in jail, the man allegedly urinated in the cell, threw water and cursed at officers, the report said.
Lt. David Wilson said the man was issued a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged possession of a controlled substance.
