A motorcycle, ATV, riding lawn mower and other items, altogether valued at $25,400, recently were stolen from a home in the 200 block of Great Oak Drive in the Arnold area. The theft occurred between May 30 and June 2, while the home was vacant following the owner’s death, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
It looked like the culprit forced open the front door to get inside the home and then stole the items. The stolen items included a black 1988 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with flames painted on it; a blue Kawasaki ATV; a green Craftsman riding lawn mower; a Craftsman gas air compressor; a Craftsman stick welder and a green safe, the report said.
Neighbors told deputies they saw a pickup as well as a white van with two men inside at the home during the period the theft occurred, according to the report.
As of Friday (June 10), none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Sheriff’s Office. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
