The old Star Lumber building in Shady Valley

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a burglary at Star Lumber in the 4400 block of Old Hwy. 21 in Shady Valley, which closed last year.

Between 5 p.m. Aug. 6 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 11, someone got inside the building and stole about $1,350 in tools and other items from a back room, the report said.

Among the stolen items was a Dewalt tool box and tool set, including an 18-volt hammer drill, an 18-volt recess saw, an 18-volt light, an 18-volt saw, an 18-volt charger and two 18-volt batteries, as well as a Dewalt 18-volt cordless drill set, including two batteries and a case, and a Bostich air nail gun and a 25-inch air hose, according to the report.

Someone driving by the building noticed the front door open and informed the victim, who went to the building and found the items missing, the report said.

None of the items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests as of Aug. 15, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He urges anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
