Police are seeking two men who allegedly stole dozens of bottles of alcohol from the Schnucks grocery store, 245 E. Fifth St., in Eureka. The stolen alcohol was valued at $1,107.70, Eureka Police reported.
A store employee reported the theft on June 25, but it occurred at about 5 p.m. May 27. The employee said one of the men was middle aged with a thin build and was wearing a black polo shirt, black hat, thick black glasses and blue jeans. The other man also had a thin build and was wearing a face mask and glasses, as well as a gray jacket, a blue Nike shirt and blue jeans, the report said.
The men allegedly stole eight bottles of Tito’s vodka, five bottles of Jack Daniels bourbon, six bottles of Bacardi rum, six bottles of Maker’s Mark bourbon, two 18-packs of Corona beer, one bottle of Tinker gin and another bottle of gin. They reportedly put the liquor into a shopping cart and pushed the cart out of the store without paying for the items, and then loaded it into a car and drove away with it.
As of July 2, the men had not been identified, and the alcohol had not been recovered, Lt. Michael Werges said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
