Metal detectors, tools and other items recently were stolen from a cabin in the 7500 block of Riffle Island Drive in Cedar Hill. The burglary was reported Nov. 27, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The victim told deputies he believes someone used a spare key to get inside the cabin and then stole the items. In addition to two metal detectors, the stolen items included a framing nailer, a propane torch, a Briggs and Stratton two-man auger, miscellaneous lawn care tools, a DeWalt radio, a well pump and a sump pump. Altogether, the items were valued at $2,100, the report said.

As of Wednesday (Dec. 7), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
