A St. Louis woman was hurt in a hit-and-run accident on April 8 at Hwy. 141 and 13th Street in the Springdale area between Arnold and Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 2:20 p.m., a 21-year-old Maryland Heights man was driving a 2010 Kia Optima south on Hwy. 141 when he failed to stop at a red light and struck an eastbound 2001 Toyota Camry driven by Chau Lam, 69, of St. Louis, who was turning left from 13th Street onto northbound Hwy. 141. Then, the Maryland Heights man fled from the scene, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the Maryland Heights man, but Lam was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.

Lam was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

Both vehicles were moderately damaged, the report said.

Highway Patrol troopers located and arrested the Maryland Heights man later that day, Cpl. Logan Bolton said.

He will not be named until charges are filed against him, and as of Wednesday, April 19, none had been filed.
