A 29-year-old De Soto man was arrested for alleged possession of a sawed-off shotgun after he was treated for an alleged heroin overdose, said Hillsboro Police Lt. Steve Hutt.
At 7:30 a.m. June 12, Hillsboro Police got a call that the man was in a car parked at Vreeland and Fifth streets suffering from an overdose.
“A person who was with the man went to the Hillsboro Firehouse, which is nearby, for help,” Hutt said. “Paramedics administered Narcan and the person pulled out of it (was revived). He was found in possession of a sawed-off shotgun in the car and arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon.”
The suspect was booked and released pending application for warrants.
