A 41-year-old man was shot and killed in De Soto shortly after midnight this morning (May 3), according to a press release from the De Soto Police Department.
Officers responded to a reported shooting near the corner of Boyd and Sixth streets where they found the victim, Police Chief Joe Edwards said.
“Lifesaving efforts were provided by police and paramedics; however, the victim did not survive,” Edwards reported.
He said De Soto Police are investigating the incident, but there were no suspects as of this afternoon.
Edwards said he could not release the name of the victim because police were working to notify the man’s relatives. Edwards also said he didn’t know where the victim lived.
“That is all I can tell you right now. We will be sending out updates as we find out more,” he said.
