The Arnold Police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old St. Louis man who reportedly had been fighting with a 43-year-old St. Louis man at a home in the 2100 block of Park Drive on Tuesday, April 29, Police Chief Brian Carroll announced today, May 2.

Officers were called to the home at 12:55 a.m. that day, and the older man was found outside the home unconscious and not breathing. The other man involved in the fight had fled from the home before officers arrived, the report said.

Arnold Police did not provide any additional information about the men involved in the fight or about the fight.

The report said it does not appear that any weapons were used during the fight.

Officers, paramedics and firefighters administered life-saving measures to the man found unconscious, but he was pronounced dead at the home, according to the report.

Investigators identified the other man allegedly involved in the fight and arrested him early in the morning on April 29 a home in the 1500 Block of Gieseking Lane in St. Louis. He was held in the Arnold Police Department Jail until he had to be released due to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office not being able to file charges against him in the allotted time, the report said.

Carroll said Arnold Police continue to investigate the incident, and the department may seek criminal charges through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office after autopsy results are available and the investigation is completed.
