A 23-year-old De Soto man was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon in De Soto on Sept. 14. At 9:03 p.m., De Soto Police officers got a call about possible shots being fired in the 400 block of West Miller Street, Police Chief Rick Draper reported.
After they arrived, officers located the suspect, who reportedly told them “that he had fired the gun in the direction of a fleeing vehicle,” Draper said.
“Based on this information, the male subject was placed under arrest, and the firearm involved was seized and placed in evidence,” Draper said.
Police determined the suspect was allegedly shooting at a 45-year-old relative, Draper said.
“No one was injured during this incident,” he said.
The suspect was booked and released pending application for warrants, Draper said.
“Charges will be sought through the Jefferson County Prosecutor regarding this matter,” he said.
