The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent theft of a machine from the laundry room at the Pembroke Park Apartments in the 3000 block of Pembroke Lane in High Ridge. The theft was reported around 1:45 p.m. July 3, after someone who works for the company that owns the machine discovered it missing, the report said.
The machine, called a VTM, takes money and then issues a card that can be used to operate the washing machines. The VTM was bolted to the floor before it was stolen, according to the report.
It still had some cash and laundry cards inside. Altogether, the machine, cash and cards were valued at $3,375, the report said.
As of July 11, the machine had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
