The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent burglary at the Lost History Museum in the 14000 block of Valles Mines School Road in Valles Mines.

Between 3 a.m. and 3:12 a.m. Feb. 3, someone broke a window to get inside the museum and stole 48 disposable cigarette lighters, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The damage to the window and the stolen lighters were valued at $99, the report said.

Surveillance footage from security cameras showed someone walking around the area, but the suspect could not be identified, according to the report.

As of Tuesday (Feb. 10), the lighters had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
