A lawn care business owner who was busy mowing a lawn in Pevely saw someone steal two of his backpack blowers. The theft happened about 10:45 a.m. June 2 outside a home at the corner of Woodridge Drive and Willow Drive, Pevely Police Capt. Larry Miller said.
The business owner, a 23-year-old Festus man, said a blue Volkswagen Jetta with temporary tags on it pulled up next to his lawn care equipment, Miller said.
“He said a subject described as a white male, medium build, blue jeans, white T-shirt, exited the vehicle and grabbed two blowers,” Miller said.
He said the suspect put the orange and black Stihl blowers in the back seat of the vehicle and drove away. The stolen lawn equipment was valued at $400, Pevely Police reported.
Miller said a woman with a thin build and blond hair was inside the vehicle, on the passenger side.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Pevely Police at 636-475-4498.
