Festus Police are investigating the theft of a ladder from a pickup parked at a McDonald’s restaurant. The truck and ladder belonged to a man who was working at the Festus restaurant, police reported.

The incident occurred Aug. 9 at the McDonald’s at 1150 W. Gannon Drive, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.

According to the report, a 61-year-old Festus man who works at the restaurant parked his 2008 Ford F-150 pickup outside the restaurant when he reported for work at 7 a.m. When he left work at 4 p.m., he discovered the 12-foot extension ladder “was stolen out of” the pickup.

Lewis said the ladder, which was the only item reported missing from the truck, was valued at $216. As of Aug. 24, the ladder had not been recovered and no arrests had been made, Lewis said.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
