Eureka Police patch

A 31-year-old man from Paducah, Ky., is facing assault and resisting arrests charges after a physical altercation with a security guard at Six Flags, the Eureka Police said. The incident began at about 11:28 p.m. Oct. 14 at the amusement park’s entrance, 4900 Six Flags Road, a report said.

The Kentucky man had made several verbal threats towards a 34-year-old security guard before the two got into a physical altercation, the report said. A Pacific Police officer and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputy, who were off duty but working security at the park in full uniform, first responded to the scene, a report said.

The Kentucky man attempted to strike the deputy, and he was then tasered before complying with police, a report said. The Kentucky man and security guard both had minor scratches and bruises but refused medical attention, the report said.

The man was transported to the Eureka Police station where he was booked and later released on bond, the report said. Eureka Police Lt. David Wilson said the man is being charged with assault and resisting arrest through the Eureka Municipal Court.
