A Jefferson County judge recently dismissed charges that had been filed against April M. Davidson, 35, of the Fenton area.

Davidson had been charged on June 30 with first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony, and third-degree domestic assault, a class E felony. However, on Aug. 11, Jefferson County Div. 10 Associate Circuit Judge Jeffrey Coleman dismissed the charges against her after the state’s essential witness did not appear in court for a preliminary hearing.

At that Aug. 11 hearing, the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office requested a continuance, but Coleman denied that request and dismissed the charges, court records said.

Davidson had been charged with the felonies after she was accused of attacking a woman in the home they shared on Stieren Lane in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, according to court documents.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called on June 28 to the Fenton-area home by the alleged victim, who told deputies that Davidson had assaulted her, according to the probable-cause statement in the cases.

The Sheriff’s Office did not say what led to the alleged assault.
