The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged a St. Louis man with allegedly driving a stolen pickup to a home in Imperial. The man was arrested at a house in the 4800 block of Connors Road, according to court documents.
Joshua J. Lavall, 25, has been charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison. He was arrested on Oct. 21 and was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail, court records show.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 19, 2024, was alerted by the Flock license-plate reading camera system that a red 2001 Dodge Ram was traveling south on Old Hwy. 21 near Lions Den Road in Imperial. The pickup had been reported stolen by the St. Louis Police, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.
A deputy located the pickup parked outside a home on Connors Road and saw that the ignition was damaged. Lavall was at the home, and he told the deputy the person who gave him the pickup in St. Louis did not provide keys and that the ignition was damaged, the report said.
