The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of jewelry and money from a home in the 200 block of Harbor View Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton. It appears someone broke glass in a back door to get inside the home, the Sheriff's Office reported.
The theft happened between about 3 p.m. Feb. 21 and 11 a.m. Feb. 23. Several rooms were ransacked, and jewelry worth between $70,000 and $80,000 was stolen, as was some money. The Sheriff’s Office will not disclose how much money was taken from the home, and an estimated cost to repair the door was not reported.
As of March 3, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
