crime tape and magnifying glass

Items valued at $1,010 were stolen from an unoccupied house in the 100 block of New Sugar Creek Road in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton. The incident occurred between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

It looked like the intruder forced entry into the house through a rear door. In addition, the intruder cut through a chain-link fence on the property, damaging it. Stolen items included four lawn mower batteries, two vehicle batteries, a machine auger with a drill bit and an electric weed trimmer, the report said.

Sgt. Matthew Moore said Aug. 27 that none of the items had been recovered and there had been no arrests. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 636-797-5515.
