barn door

Someone recently removed a portion of a Festus-area barn door and stole $1,250 items, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Sometime between about 6 p.m. July 4 and noon July 5 someone cut off a padlock on the barn and removed an exterior portion of the door, as well as a padlock securing a kayak to a metal rack inside.

Items taken included a chain saw, a line trimmer and two kayaks.

Sgt. Matthew Moore said July 19 none of the items had been recovered and there had been no arrests.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 636-797-5515.
