The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in, theft and vandalism at an Imperial business.
Bennett’s Tire & Auto, 5261 Old Hwy. 21, was broken into at about 10 p.m. July 19, the report said. Damage was done to two doors, ceiling tiles and a soda machine, and about $150 was stolen, reportedly.
The report said damage to the soda machine alone is estimated at $1,000 and damages overall are estimated at $1,600.
The investigating deputy said entry was apparently gained by forcing open a side bathroom door.
As of July 28, there were no arrests and the investigation was continuing, Sheriff’s Cpl. Matthew Moore reported. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
