Jared Crocker, 28, of Imperial has been charged with three felonies after Pevely Police allegedly found him pushing a stolen motorcycle down Peggy Drive early March 28, authorities reported.

Around 2:45 a.m., Pevely Police got a call about a suspicious person, and when officers spotted Crocker on Peggy Drive and confronted him, he allegedly dropped the motorcycle and ran to Pevely Park 1, near Pevely Elementary School. Officers ran after Crocker and found him in a creek in a wooded area, Detective Sgt. Larry Miller said.

“He was placed into custody and found in possession of a firearm, drugs and drug paraphernalia,” Miller said.

While Crocker was booked at the Pevely Police Department, officers discovered he was wanted on three outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions. He was then transferred to the Jefferson County Jail, Miller said.

Later the same day, the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Crocker with possession of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property, both Class D felonies, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, a class E felony. Each of the class D felonies is punishable by up to seven years in prison, and the Class E felony carries a sentence up to four years in prison.

Crocker was still being held April 3 on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

The motorcycle, a 95 Kawasaki Ninja that was stolen from Herculaneum, “was towed from the scene and later returned to the victim, Miller said.
