Arnold Police arrested a 47-year-old Imperial man after he was found driving a car that was reported stolen from the Tesson Hills Apartment complex west of Arnold. Police were alerted by Flock license plate-reading cameras that the car, a 2000 Honda Accord, had entered the city limits, the report said.
At about 6 p.m. May 13, Arnold Police got the alert about the car in the city, and it was first spotted on Hwy. 141 near Astra Way. An officer stopped the car on the highway as it was turning onto the northbound I-55 ramp, according to the report.
The man is a convicted felon, and already was wanted by the Arnold Police and the Jefferson County and Franklin County sheriff’s offices. The officer allegedly found a gun inside the car’s glove box, and since the suspect is a felon, he is not supposed to have a gun, the report said.
In addition, the man’s driver’s license was suspended, Arnold Police reported.
The man was arrested on the warrants, and he was taken to the Police Station where he was held for the Jefferson County and Franklin County sheriff’s offices, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree tampering, driving with a revoked license and unlawful possession of a weapon, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
