A 59-year-old Imperial man recently was arrested for allegedly stealing a debit card and using it to make purchases in Arnold. The card was stolen on Aug. 8, the illegal purchases were made Aug. 14 and the man was arrested Aug. 19, Arnold Police reported.

The victim told Arnold Police that her debit card was stolen while she was at the Jack in the Box restaurant, 1289 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold on Aug. 8, but she didn’t realize it had been stolen until Aug. 14, after the man allegedly used it at Weber’s Front Row, 3930 Vogel Road, and at the Target store, 3849 Vogel Road, purchasing a total of $41.84 in food and merchandise, the report said.

Arnold Police viewed surveillance footage from the businesses and identified the man as a suspect. Then, the man showed up again at Weber’s Front Row on Aug. 19, and an employee there called police, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

The man allegedly admitted to stealing the card and using it at both Weber’s and Target. He was booked and released pending application for warrants, according to the report.

Arnold Police will seek felony charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing, unlawful use of a credit device and forgery, Jones said.
