The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to find a man who reportedly robbed the Midwest BankCentre, 1030 Imperial Main St., this afternoon (Jan. 30).
At 2:42 p.m., the man allegedly walked up to a teller and demanded money and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Capt. Gary Higginbotham said.
He said the man was described as white, 6-foot-2-inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.
Ironically, the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a St. Louis County Municipal Police Academy logo on it.
Higginbotham said the Sheriff’s Office already checked with that police academy and officials there didn’t recognize the man.
The man also was wearing a gray sock cap with a St. Louis Cardinals logo on it, as well as light-colored blue jeans, Higginbotham said.
After the robbery, the man reportedly left on foot, Higginbotham said.
