Eureka Police arrested a 45-year-old House Springs woman at a gas station after being alerted that she was wanted on active warrants. After arresting the woman, an officer found a substance that appeared to be methamphetamine in her purse and a smoking pipe in an SUV that she was driving, police reported.

Officers were alerted at about 8:15 a.m. April 2 that the woman driving a 2012 Nissan Rogue south on Central Avenue was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Sunset Hills Police on active warrants, the report said.

The officers saw the Rogue parked at the Circle K gas station, 100 Old Towne Drive. They parked their patrol vehicle behind the SUV and made contact with the woman, according to the report.

The woman was arrested on the warrants. An officer searched the woman’s purse and allegedly found a crystal-like substance. The woman said she didn’t know what the substance was that was found in her purse, the report said.

The woman did tell the officer that there was a pipe in a cigarette pack in the SUV, which the officer found in the center console, according to the report.

The woman was taken tot the Police Station, where she was booked. While at the station, she said the substance in her purse was meth and that she had purchased it from a man at a gas station in St. Louis, the reports said.

The woman was held for the Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Lt. Brett Grittini said.
