The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire that damaged a pickup and van outside a home in the 6100 block of Bush Road in House Springs. The fire was reported at 4:48 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21), according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The victims told authorities they were waked by their dog barking, and one victim heard the pickup’s alarm going off. The pickup owner went outside and saw the 2001 GMC on fire, the report said.
When deputies arrived, High Ridge Fire Protection District crew members already were at the home extinguishing the fire, which also damaged a 2010 Dodge van that was parked near the pickup. The fire damaged the interior and exterior of the pickup, and the van had damage on its passenger side. The damage to the two vehicles was estimated at $5,000, according to the report.
A person of interest was identified, but no arrest had been made as of Wednesday (Jan. 22), Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
