A 26-year-old House Springs man has been arrested for allegedly stealing $680 from the Circle K gas station, 2001 Richardson Road, in Arnold, where he worked. The theft was reported about 2 p.m. Dec. 1, but it allegedly happened over a four-day period in November, Arnold Police report.
A manager at the gas station was conducting a routine audit of the books and discovered the missing money. Later, the House Springs man was identified as a suspect, the report said.
The suspect was arrested Dec. 5. He was booked and released, pending application for warrants, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
Arnold Police will seek felony stealing charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. As of today (Dec. 9), no charges had been filed, Jones said.
He said the stolen money had not been recovered.
