A 36-year-old House Springs man was arrested after he allegedly was found in a pickup that had been reported stolen by Winter Brothers Material Co., a masonry supply store in St. Louis County, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

A deputy stopped the man who was driving a 2004 Ford F-250 on Miller Road near Hwy. MM in House Springs because the license plate on the pickup was expired. The deputy discovered the pickup had been reported stolen and arrested the man without incident, the report said.

The man was taken to Jefferson County Jail, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants, according to the report.

The Sheriff’s Office will seek a first-degree tampering charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
