The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home in the 7300 block of Old Hwy. 21 north of Hillsboro. It looked like the culprit got into the home through a dog door, authorities reported.
The burglary occurred between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 24, when jewelry, a checkbook and a vehicle key fob were stolen. The stolen items were worth approximately $6,900, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
As of May 30, none of the items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
