Sports memorabilia, tools and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 2300 block of Boyd Branch Road in the De Soto area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports. The burglary happened between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Oct. 7, the report said.
It looked like the culprit got into the house through a kitchen window and then stole a St. Louis Cardinals bobble head set, a Cardinals glass, a watch featuring The Simpsons, a set of The Smurfs memorabilia and a record and CD player. In addition, the culprit apparently broke into a shed on the property and stole a Stihl chainsaw, a pole saw, a Skil table saw and a Craftsman tool set. In all, the items were valued at $1,109, according to the report.
The victim told deputies that when she returned home, she found her front door unlocked and the kitchen table pushed away from a window where she believes the burglar entered the home. She also said she found a window screen open on the shed and believes that’s how the culprit got inside it, the report said.
As of Oct. 18, none of the items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
