The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home in the 9500 block of Southern Belle Drive in the Hillsboro area, where a wedding ring, cash and other items were stolen. The victims were in the process of selling the home, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The burglary occurred between 7:45 p.m. Dec. 20 and 5:45 p.m. Dec. 23, when someone stole a white gold wedding ring with diamonds and a sapphire, as well as $3,700 in cash and credit cards. There was no sign of forced entry into the home, and It’s unknown how the culprits got inside to steal the items, the report said.
As of Dec. 29, the stolen items had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
