A home in the 5600 block of Hwy. Y in the Hillsboro area recently was burglarized. A .22-caliber Ruger semiautomatic pistol was stolen in the burglary, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The burglary happened between 10:15 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. June 20, when someone forced open a rear door to the home and stole the pistol. It was valued at $250, the report said.
In addition to the theft, drawers had been emptied onto the floor, according to the report.
As of Wednesday (July 5), the gun had not been recovered. There were no suspects or arrests either, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. He urges anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
