A 31-year-old High Ridge man was arrested at an Arnold gas station for alleged possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested at about 11:15 p.m. May 20 after an officer spotted him getting gas at the Phillips 66 station, 5 Municipal Drive, Arnold Police reported.

The suspect was putting gas in a 2004 Cadillac, and after checking the license plate, the officer discovered the man was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for driving while suspended, the report said.

The officer allegedly found a glass pipe in the suspect’s pocket and a plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance in his wallet. The officer also allegedly found a case for sunglasses on the floor by the passenger-side seat, and the case also contained a substance believed to be meth, according to the report.

A 27-year-old High Ridge man was a passenger in the car, and he allegedly told the officer he had a syringe in his pocket. The officer also arrested the passenger, the report said.

The men were taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants, police reported.

Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the 31-year-old through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.

Arnold Police also will seek a charge against the 27-year-old through the Arnold Municipal Court for possession of drug paraphernalia, Shular said.
