A 33-year-old High Ridge man was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 16, for alleged possession of two firearms following a crash at Hwy. 30 and High Ridge Boulevard in High Ridge that left him and a Fenton man injured. The man is a convicted felon so he’s not supposed to have firearms, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, the High Ridge man was driving a westbound 2016 Dodge Durango and allegedly failed to stop at a red stoplight, striking the left side of a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Austin J. Ave-Lallemant-Baker, 23, of Fenton, the report said.
The High Ridge man was moderately injured and transported by North Jefferson County Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition on Thursday morning, Aug. 17, a hospital spokesperson said.
Ave-Lallemant-Baker sustained minor injuries and was taken by personal conveyance to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, the report said.
The High Ridge man was not wearing a seat belt, and Ave-Lallemant-Baker was wearing one, according to the report.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the High Ridge man at 11:40 p.m. at the hospital. His name will not be published unless charges in this case are filed against him, and as of Thursday, none had been filed.
