The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged an Iowa man for allegedly threatening an Arnold woman. The man contacted the Arnold Police several times and threatened to kill police officers, the woman and himself, according to court documents.
Greg Klingelhut, 64, of Ames, Iowa, on Feb. 21 was charged with first-degree stalking, a class E felony that is punishable by up to four years in prison. He was arrested on May 12, and as of May 15, he was being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Klingelhut allegedly told an Arnold Police officer on July 14, 2024, that he was going to drive to the woman’s house and kill her. He also sent the woman text messages and left a message voicemail message where she worked threatening her.
In the voicemail, he said he was coming to her house to “settle this once and for all, and either he is going to die, she is going to die or both of them are going to die,” the report said.
Klingelhut also repeatedly called the Arnold Police on July 14 and threatened to kill police officers and the woman, according to the report.
The woman told investigators Klingelhut has been issued restraining orders to stay away from her in Michigan and Minnesota, the report said.
