De Soto woman charged with DWI, trespassing

Glenda Beauchaine

Glenda Michelle Beauchaine, 40, of De Soto is accused of driving while intoxicated with a child in her vehicle near a Hillsboro-area home that she is not allowed to visit. Beauchaine has been convicted of at least two prior DWI offenses, according to court documents.

Beauchaine has been charged with a DWI as a persistent offender, a class E felony punishable by up to four years in prison; and first-degree trespassing, a class B misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000, court records said.

She was arrested on Sept. 30, and as of Oct. 1, she was being held on a $10,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents show.

On May 6, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was called to a home on Victory Farm Road south of Hillsboro because Beauchaine had driven there with a boy who is younger than 17. A woman at the home told the deputy that Beauchaine was not allowed to on the property.

The deputy stopped Beauchaine near the intersection of Hillsboro-Victory Road and Victory Farm Road, the case’s probable-cause statement said.

Beauchaine, who allegedly showed signs of impairment, told the deputy she had driven the boy to the home. She failed field sobriety tests, the report said.

Beauchaine admitted to knowing she was banned from the property, according to the report.

Court records show Beauchaine was convicted of two separate driving while intoxicated offenses in May 2017 in Jefferson County.
