police investigation 2

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of $3,000 worth of flooring supplies from a home under construction in the 2600 block of Winding Valley in unincorporated Fenton. The supplies were stolen between 2:25 p.m. Jan. 29 and 7 a.m. Jan. 30, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

It looked like the culprit broke a basement window to get inside the home. The garage door also was partially opened, the report said.

The supplies, including 46 cartons of laminate flooring, eight rolls of under laminate and five cartons of vinyl tiles, were stolen from the kitchen area, where they were being stored. The supplies belonged to Ambassador Flooring Co. in Chesterfield, according to the report.

No other homes under construction in the development appeared to have been burglarized, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

As of Feb. 10, the stolen supplies had not been recovered and there were no suspects, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
