Two people were displaced after a fire damaged a home on Miller Park Road south of Arnold. The two adults were not injured in the blaze, the Rock Community Fire Protection District reported.
Firefighters were called to the home at 12:34 p.m. Jan. 17, and the first truck arrived at 12:40 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the exterior of the home, spokeswoman Alyson Rotter said.
A Rock Fire Facebook post said the rear of the home was well engulfed in fire, and firefighters were able to knock down the blaze with little extension into the home. Firefighters believe the fire originated in the backyard and spread to the house.
Rotter said firefighters remained at the scene until 2:15 p.m.
On Jan. 22, Rotter said the cause of the fire was still under investigation. She said the home was uninhabitable, and the Red Cross was called to assist the two people who were displaced.
The Antonia and Mehlville fire protection districts assisted on the call. The Rock Township Ambulance District also responded to the home.
