A fire on July 16 displaced the owners of a house in the 100 block of Primrose Lane in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, according to Saline Valley Assistant Fire Chief Chris Harris.
He said the department was dispatched to the fire at about 5 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene for approximately two hours and the house sustained moderate damage to the interior, he said.
He said the man and woman who own the home were not there at the time of the fire.
“They will not be able to live in it until repairs are completed,” he said, adding the couple did not request assistance from the Red Cross.
He said no injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation, but it is “not suspicious,” Harris said.
The Rock Community, Fenton, Goldman and Cedar Hill fire protection districts, as well as Rock Township Ambulance, assisted with the fire.
