A 27-year-old Festus woman recently was arrested for allegedly passing two counterfeit $20 bills at McDonald’s, 250 Arnold Crossroads Center. Arnold Police got a call just after 3 p.m. June 26 about the incident, according to Arnold Police.
After the woman allegedly went through the drive-through at the restaurant and passed the counterfeit bills, officers arrived and arrested her, the report said.
She was booked and released pending application for warrants. The crime is a misdemeanor, but Arnold Police will seek charges against her through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, rather than through Arnold Municipal Court, said Arnold Police Detective Lt. James Jones.
As of Monday (July 11), no charges had been filed, he said.
