Festus Police are investigating the theft of a catalytic converter from a truck at Danny’s Top Shop, 793 American Legion Drive. The damage to the 2016 Chevrolet truck was estimated at $3,000, Chief Tim Lewis said.
He said the theft occurred overnight between Jan. 22 and Jan. 23, and the victim, a 55-year-old Festus man, reported the theft at about 8 a.m. Jan. 23.
“The truck was last seen (intact) in the evening hours of Jan. 22,” Lewis said.
The stolen catalytic converter had not been recovered and no arrests had been made as of Feb. 1, Lewis said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
