Festus Police are investigating a theft from an ATM at Enterprise Bank & Trust, 680 St. Mill St., early today, Oct. 31, Police Chief Doug Wendel said.
The incident occurred about 3:45 a.m., he said.
“An ATM was broken into at Enterprise Bank on South Mill,” Wendel said. “It sits in the parking lot. (Bank employees) are still determining the amount stolen.”
Video surveillance footage captured two vehicles involved in the theft.
“There was a white van at the machine,” Wendel said. “They left in a different car, ditched the van. We’re still trying to determine the type of car.”
He said the ATM was damaged during the break-in, but it was not yet known how much repairs would cost.
“The machine overall is worth $90,000,” he said.
Wendel said he is aware of other recent ATM break-ins in the St. Louis area, including one reported at about 2:45 a.m. Oct. 21 from the Enterprise Bank & Trust, 3944 Vogel Road in Arnold.
Anyone with information about the ATM theft is urged to call the Festus Police at 636-937-3646 or the Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
